Two-factor authentication (2FA) and sessions

Last updated on Sep 17, 2026

2FA is required

ForePath forces two-factor authentication after your password. You enroll either:

  • Email OTP. A one-time code sent to your account email, or

  • TOTP. A code from an authenticator app you linked during enrollment

Enter each code only once. Expired or mistyped OTPs are a frequent sign-in failure. Request a new email OTP instead of retrying an old one.

Lost MFA device or mailbox access

  1. Use any backup path shown during enrollment if you saved one.

  2. If you still have password access but not the second factor, contact Support at [email protected] from the account email when possible.

  3. Expect identity checks before 2FA is reset. We will not ask you to paste passwords, OTPs, JWTs, or API keys into chat.

Sessions

After you finish on a shared computer, use Sign out in the account menu. If you suspect someone else used your account:

  1. Sign out.

  2. Reset your password.

  3. Re-enroll or verify 2FA.

  4. Tell Support if you see unexpected organization changes or billing actions.

Do not share accounts. Each person should use their own ForePath user.
